Abstract

Ethnic of Dayak which is being one part of ethnics in East
Kalimantan  still  maintains  its  identitiy  eventhough  it  starts  to displaced  by the era and often get conflict. Generally, Dayak tribe known with some cultural identities, such as long ear, long house (lamin), tattoo on body, and carvings. As the  modernisation current, then  tradition  and  culture  start  to  disguised  even  eroded  euforia labelled modern. It also has affect Dayak people, especially who live in  the  urban.  Most  of  them  has  left  the  tradition.  Similarly  with Dayak  Kenyah  tribe  in  Pampang  leave  some  traditions  and  their culture because it is considered to be not suitable anymore with the
era. However, some cultural that has nature of economics are still sustained. Beside an identity reinforcement, Dayak people has their own  tradition  of  communication  in  interacting  and  adapting  with their environment. For example, there is unwritten rule in term of starting     a     conversation     with     someone,     especially     when communicating with unknown person. This rule can be called as an adaptive communication pattern with the environment. Because of that,   the   pattern   can   create   an   effective   communication.   By promoting   the   adaptive   communication   pattern   can   make   the
harmony life.
