Abstract

This study aims to apply the TGT (Team Games Tournament) type of Cooperative Learning Model to improve the learning outcomes of PAI (Religious Education) on the subject of Azan and Iqamah for grade II at SDN 1 Pager Jaya in the 2023/2024 academic year. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles through the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection in the first semester (October 25 – November 11, 2023). The subjects of the study were 10 students from grade II at SDN 1 Pager Jaya. Data were collected through observation sheets, interview guidelines, as well as field notes or documentation, and were then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed an improvement in learning outcomes after applying the TGT model. In cycle I, the average score was 74.9 and 77.4 (low-medium category), while in cycle II it increased to 80.8 (high category) from the ideal score of 90. Thus, PAI learning through the TGT model has proven to be effective in improving students' learning outcomes.
