Allegations of Research Misconduct
The Borneo Journal of Primary Education (BJPE) takes allegations of research misconduct seriously. Misconduct may include, but is not limited to, fabrication or falsification of data, plagiarism, duplicate or redundant publication, improper authorship, undeclared conflicts of interest, unethical research practices, and manipulation of the peer-review process.
Allegations should be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief at [insert journal email address], with relevant evidence where available. BJPE will assess each allegation fairly, confidentially, and without presuming that misconduct has occurred. The journal may request further information from the complainant, the authors, or other relevant parties.
When an allegation concerns a submitted manuscript, BJPE may pause its review or publication while the matter is investigated. When it concerns a published article, the journal may issue an expression of concern, correction, or retraction, as appropriate. If an investigation requires expertise or authority beyond the journal’s remit, BJPE may refer the matter to the authors’ institution or another relevant body.
All parties will be given a reasonable opportunity to provide relevant information. The journal will make decisions based on the available evidence and applicable editorial policies, following recognized publication-ethics guidance. BJPE will protect the confidentiality of those involved to the extent possible and will not tolerate retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith.
