Correction and Retraction

Correction and retraction policies are utilized by Lentera: Jurnal Ilmu Dakwah dan Komunikasi based on guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to amend the scholarly record, address research misconduct, and inform readers about invalid data.

Core Mechanisms
  • Correction (Corrigenda / Errata): Published for minor or unintentional errors that do not undermine the main conclusions of the scientific article.
  • Retraction (Article Withdrawal): Issued if the data is proven to be manipulated, plagiarized, or contains fatal errors that render the results unreliable. Retracted articles typically remain available online but are clearly marked with a "Retracted" watermark or notice.
  • Expressions of Concern: Published by the editor to alert readers that the article is currently undergoing a formal investigation.
  • Article Removal: Executed only for urgent legal reasons, such as defamation, privacy violations, or public safety risks.
