Abstract

Picture cards are games that are done by showing pictures to children so that children will think and analyze what pictures are in front of them, and are very effective in helping children learn to read, say words and recognize letters at an early age. This type of research is classroom action research. The research was conducted at Bustnul Athfal Aisyiyah II Deleanggu, Klaten. The research subjects were group B students at BA Aisyiyah Tlobong II. A series of activities were carried out starting from planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques using observation and documentation. The results of the study show that children's vocabulary can be improved through picture word cards in group B children of Bustanul Athfal Aisyiyah Tbobong II Delanggu Klaten. Cycle I obtained an average percentage of increasing children's vocabulary with picture word cards of 50.9%. The average number of scores of 20.3 is 50.9%. Researchers in cycle I were declared unsuccessful because they had not been able to reach the performance indicator of 80%, so the researchers had to continue to cycle II stage. Cycle II obtained an average percentage of increasing children's vocabulary with picture word cards of 82.5% and an average score of 33. So that researchers do not have to continue to the next cycle stage. So it can be concluded that playing picture word cards can increase children's vocabulary by 82.5%.
