History of Borneo Journal of Language and Education (BENJOLE)

  1. The Borneo Journal of Language and Education (abbreviated BENJOLE) was first published in April 2021, with two issues per year, in April and August. The journal is under the auspices of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris State Islamic University Samarinda. In its initial period, BENJOLE was managed by Editor-in-Chief Rostanti Toba, M.Pd. and Managing Editor Muhammad Azwar Paramma, M.Pd.

  2. On July 7, 2022, the journal officially received E-ISSN 2775-4790, marking the availability of BENJOLE in electronic format and facilitating digital access to its scholarly publications.

  3. Subsequently, on February 19, 2024, BENJOLE obtained P-ISSN 3032-4572 for the print version, expanding its distribution and accessibility to readers and researchers across different media.

  4. BENJOLE achieved SINTA 4 accreditation, based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 152/E/KPT/2023. This accreditation serves as an official recognition of the journal’s editorial quality and its contribution to the fields of language and education.

  5. As of April 1, 2026, the journal’s editorial structure was revised. Dr. Ahmad Fadhel Syakir Hidayat, M.Pd. was appointed as Editor-in-Chief, while Muhammad Azwar Paramma, M.Pd. continues to serve as Managing Editor. This change aims to strengthen the journal’s development direction, improve publication quality, and expand BENJOLE’s reach and reputation both nationally and internationally.
